Puoliväliriihen päätöksissä ei nähty perheyritysten toivomaa perintö- ja lahjaveron poistoa, mikä olisi vahvistanut kotimaisen omistajuuden säilymistä perheyrityksissä. Sukupolvenvaihdoshuojennuksiin tarvitaan Suomessa isompaa uudistusta.

Työterveyslaitoksen rekisteritutkimuksessa selvitettiin, miten Suomessa syntyneet korkeakoulutetut paluumuuttajamiehet ja -naiset sijoittuvat työmarkkinoille ulkomailta paluunsa jälkeen. Paluumuuttajamiesten ansiotulot olivat korkeammalla tasolla kuin samanikäisen vertailuväestön. Naisilla sen sijaan vastaavaa eroa ei ollut. Miehet kiinnittyivät työelämään kaiken kaikkiaan naisia paremmin.

Nykyinen museonjohtaja Maria Didrichsen jää eläkkeelle loppusyksyllä 2025 ja aloittaa Didrichsenin taidesäätiön hallituksen puheenjohtajana 1.1.2026. Wiljanen on tänä vuonna 60-vuotisjuhliaan viettävän Didrichsenin taidemuseon neljäs ja samalla ensimmäinen suvun ulkopuolelta tuleva johtaja.

High numbers of employees, students and family members of employees and students continue to show interest in Finland. Despite the high application numbers, the number of permits granted by the Finnish Immigration Service was lower in 2024 than in 2023. Labour migration to Finland has decreased because of the economic downturn in Finland, but the number of applications received is still at a historically high level. A record number of residence permit applications were submitted by students and family members of employees and students in 2024. Meanwhile, there has been a significant decrease in the number of incoming applications for international protection.
