Taaleri changes its financial reporting and publishes comparable income statement, balance sheet and segment information for 2024
TAALERI PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 4 APRIL 2025 AT 8:45 (EEST)
Taaleri changes its financial reporting and publishes comparable income statement, balance sheet and segment information for 2024
Taaleri Plc has changed its financial reporting, including its segment reporting as of 1 January 2025. The reporting change has been made to reflect the current structure of the company and to clarify the role of direct investments in Taaleri's business. The restructuring of the income statement has no impact on profit for the period or earnings per share, and the restructuring of the balance sheet has no impact on Taaleri Group's equity.
Going forward, the Group's continuing operations include three reportable segments: Private Asset Management, which is divided into renewable energy and other private asset management; Investments, which includes the Group's investments in Taaleri’s own funds and other direct investments, project development and non-strategic investments; and Garantia, which includes Garantia Insurance Company. The group Other includes the Taaleri Kapitaali and Group activities not included in the business segments. Previously, the Group’s reportable segments were Private Asset Management and Garantia.
The change in segment reporting has been made to clarify the role of direct investments in Taaleri’s business. The investment activity from the own balance sheet is a separate part of the company's business. The Investments segment includes the Group's direct investments and project development activities, as well as non-strategic investments, and its results consist of interest income, fair value changes, gains and losses on disposals of investments and results of associated companies accounted for using the equity method. Direct investments and project development activities were previously reported as part of the Private Asset Management segment and non-strategic investments as part of Other group.
In addition to their number and composition of its segments, Taaleri has changed the composition of segment revenue. Previously, Taaleri’s segment specific income statement revenue consisted of continuing earnings, performance fees and investment income. Henceforth, in addition to the above, segment specific income statement revenue consists of other revenue, which includes other operating income unrelated to the main business, such as income from the recharging of expenses.
In the future, the costs of Group activities will be fully presented in the Other group. Only the direct costs of the businesses will be presented in the business segments. Previously, Taaleri allocated the costs of Group services supporting the business segments to the segments.
Taaleri has updated and simplified the structure and presentation of its consolidated income statement from 1 January 2025 to better reflect the current structure of the company. The company has separated continuing earnings and performance fees and included interest income, fair value changes and gains and losses on disposals in net investment income. In addition, the company has updated the terminology used in the income items.
Taaleri has changed the structure and presentation of its consolidated balance sheet from 1 January 2025 by separating balance sheet items into non-current and current assets and liabilities. Taaleri has also reclassified balance sheet items and updated the balance sheet terminology to comply with the definitions in IFRS 9.
Taaleri publishes its Interim Statement for the period 1 January – 31 March 2025 on Tuesday, 29 April 2025 at approximately 8:00 EEST following the new reporting structure.
Taaleri publishes comparable information for the financial year 2024 as an attachment to this stock exchange release, in line with the new reporting structure. The comparative information includes the consolidated income statement, balance sheet and segment information on a quarterly basis. The comparative information is unaudited.
