New life in Ruoholahti – Antilooppi takes over management of the Ruoholahti Shopping Centre
Situated approximately two kilometres from the centre of Helsinki, Ruoholahti is one of the most interesting districts in the Finnish capital and also a gateway to the city centre. Over time, Ruoholahti has evolved from an industrial and warehouse area next to the West Harbour into an urban and appealing residential and office district with the Ruoholahti Shopping Centre at its heart.
Antilooppi took over the management of the shopping centre this March. As soon as the transfer was completed, the first changes were seen when Antilooppi updated the visual identity of the shopping centre, redesigned the website and refreshed the advertising space at the shopping centre. The aim of the new identity is to better engage with the shopping centre’s existing customers and also to attract new visitors.
“We wanted to freshen up the visuals and colours and bring them up to date. The end result follows the shades of red already familiar to Ruoholahti but in a soft new way. The name and logo of the shopping centre remain the same,” says Hanna Pusa from the business design and communication company Kaimana, who was responsible for designing the visual identity.
A comprehensive renovation of the shopping centre beginning at the end of 2022 is also planned. The building will be given a facelift, the overall appearance will be fresher throughout, and the appeal of the premises will be further enhanced. The improved Ruoholahti Shopping Centre will offer local residents, office users and visitors an even more interesting and diverse range of restaurants and services alongside the already existing and very successful K-Rauta and K-Citymarket.
“In connection with the renovation, we will focus on the visual appeal of the shopping centre and its visibility within the urban space. Improvements are also planned outside the building and in the surrounding area,” describes project architect Sakari Forsman from SARC Architects.
“Our aim is to develop Ruoholahti into an even more diverse district that combines a wealth of service and business offerings, excellent transport connections and a beautiful maritime environment,” summarises Tuomas Sahi, CEO of Antilooppi.
