Invitation for media: Tove Jansson – Paradise
HAM Helsinki Art Museum will open the exhibition Tove Jansson – Paradise on Friday, October 25, 2024. This comprehensive exhibition spans two floors and offers an unprecedented selection of Jansson's commissioned works for public venues. The exhibition celebrates 80 years of the Moomins, with the anniversary being highlighted during the media event.
Tove Jansson – Paradise presents the public works of Tove Jansson (1914–2001) in an unprecedented scale. HAM's arched hall offers a perfect setting for displaying her monumental paintings and their sketches and large-scale studies. The preparatory charcoal studies she drew in actual size are previously unseen by the public, and most of them have been unrolled for the first time specifically for this exhibition.
Welcome to the media event
on Wednesday, October 23, 10AM–11AM
at HAM Helsinki Art Museum
(Eteläinen Rautatiekatu 8, 2nd floor)
The exhibition will be introduced by the Director of HAM Helsinki Art Museum, Arja Miller, and the curator, Heli Harni. At the end of the event, there will be an opportunity to explore the exhibition independently, as well as join short guided tours.
The exhibition celebrates the 80 years of the Moomins in 2025 and is produced in collaboration with Moomin Characters. In addition to the exhibition presentation, the media event will provide an overview of the Moomin 80th anniversary and its major new initiatives.
