Finnair and DNA expand their cooperation — responsible lifecycle service covers thousands of mobile terminals
Finnair and DNA's cooperation is expanding to cover lifecycle services for DNA’s Device as a Service (DaaS). This collaboration applies to thousands of mobile devices. DNA’s lifecycle services ensure that the devices function impeccably and are securely erased after their service period is over. Deliveries of new devices and the maintenance services cover not only Finland, but also Sweden, Denmark and Estonia, which means that Finnair's personnel will have hardware support abroad.

Finnair has already transferred its communications and network solutions to DNA. DNA provides Finnair with global communications solutions and next-generation network solutions. DNA’s Device as a Service further rounds out the comprehensive service provided to Finnair. Finnair’s personnel are often on the move — effective mobile devices are key to serving the company’s customers. In addition to Finland, deliveries and maintenance services for the mobile devices provided by DNA cover Sweden, Denmark and Estonia.
DNA’s Device as a Service (DaaS) is a mobile device procurement model that provides an alternative to devices purchased with a one-time payment or under a payment plan. Under the DaaS model, customers get the mobile devices they want, complete with lifecycle services, such as maintenance services including a replacement or loan device, extended warranty, screen insurance and device registration for the contract period, all for a monthly fee.
At the end of the contract period, customers may return or redeem the device. When a device is returned, it is also ensured that it is erased securely. DNA customers can opt for either a standard or modular service device model. The standard service device model comes with a bundle of the most popular lifecycle services, preselected for the customer’s device. It includes the same services for everyone. The modular service device model, on the other hand, can be customised to each customer’s requirements. This enables the customer to exclude certain components and focus on the services that are the most relevant to them without incurring any costs for superfluous services.
“DNA’s modular service device model enabled us to select the mobile device services that best fit our needs. Together with DNA, we designed a service model that is perfectly suited to our organisation. The costs are predictable and transparent throughout the contract period, making them easy to manage. The devices will be securely erased and appropriately recycled at the end of the contract period. In addition, through the DNA Business app, Finnair personnel will have access to the services we have purchased. Procuring mobile devices as a service is a responsible choice, as it takes the entire lifecycle of the device into consideration,” says Tiina Flytström, Vice President, of Common platforms at Finnair.
“We have developed our services to meet the business needs of our customers in Finland, the other Nordic countries and globally, and we are delighted that our partnership with Finnair that began last year is now expanding to lifecycle services for mobile devices. This enables us to build an extensive service package for Finnair that meets their business needs and will serve them in the future, too,” says Mari Eklund, Vice President of Communication Solutions, DNA's corporate business.

Koulujen kännykkäkielto näkyy mobiiliverkossa: Datamäärät laskeneet paikoin merkittävästi, mutta koulukohtainen vaihtelu on suurta14.10.2025 08:30:00 EEST | Tiedote
Suomessa on elokuusta 2025 alkaen ollut voimassa lakiin perustuva kännykkäkielto peruskoulun oppitunneilla. Oppilaiden mobiililaitteiden käyttö on kielletty oppituntien aikana ilman opettajan lupaa, ja tällöinkin lähinnä opetukseen tai terveydenhoitoon liittyvissä asioissa. DNA:n tekemä vertailu kouluja palvelevien mobiilitukiasemien kautta kulkevan datan määrässä osoittaa, että kännykän käyttö kouluissa vaikuttaa pääosin vähentyneen –, joidenkin koulujen alueilla jopa merkittävästi.
The mobile phone ban in schools can be seen in the mobile network: Data usage has decreased significantly in some areas, but school-specific variation is huge14.10.2025 08:30:00 EEST | Press release
Since August 2025, a law-based mobile phone ban has been in effect during primary school lessons in Finland. Students are prohibited from using mobile devices during lessons without the teacher’s permission, and even then, only for educational or healthcare-related purposes. A comparison conducted by DNA on the amount of data passing through mobile base stations serving schools indicates that mobile phone use in schools has generally decreased – in some school areas even significantly.

DNA:n mobiililiiketoiminnan johtaja Mikko Valtonen listasi muutamia huomioita matkailijoille huolettoman netinkäytön varmistamiseksi.

Tutkimus: Valtiolliset toimijat vasta toiseksi suurin kyberturvallisuuden huolenaihe suomalaisyrityksille8.10.2025 10:00:00 EEST | Tiedote
DNA:n teettämän tuoreen tietoturvatutkimuksen* mukaan 70 prosenttia Suomessa toimivien yritysten ICT-päättäjistä on huolissaan kyberturvallisuudesta. Konkreettisessa varautumisessa on yrityksillä kuitenkin petrattavaa, sillä vain reilu neljännes harjoittelee kyberkriisitilanteita ja toiminnan palauttamista. Merkittävimpänä huolenaiheena pidetään yhä tietojen joutumista vääriin käsiin. Valtiollisiin toimijoihin kohdistuvan huolen osuus on laskenut hieman edellisvuodesta, mutta niihin liittyvä uhkakuva nähdään edelleen vasta toiseksi suurimpana. Tietoturvaan tehtävät investoinnit ovat puolestaan edelleen kasvussa.
