Invitation for media: Helsinki Biennial 2025

The third edition of Helsinki Biennial will showcase the work of around 35 artists and artist groups across three distinct venues this summer: Vallisaari Island, Esplanade Park, and HAM Helsinki Art Museum. Taking Shelter as its theme, this major art event brings a summer-long celebration of art to the Finnish capital from June 8 to September 21, 2025.

Helsinki Biennial 2025 will present the work of around 35 artists and artist groups from Finland and around the world. Roughly half the featured works will be site-specific new commissions premiering in Helsinki. All artists will be announced at the media event in Helsinki on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The event will also provide more information about the artistic concept and practicalities of Helsinki Biennial.

The main language of the event will be Finnish.

Helsinki Biennial

Helsinki Biennial is an international art event returning for its third edition from June 8 to September 21, 2025. The biennial is a city-wide initiative launched as part of Helsinki’s urban strategy for 2021–2025. It is produced and curated by HAM Helsinki Art Museum and organized in close co-operation with the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation, Tiftö Foundation, Saastamoinen Foundation and John Nurminen Foundation, as well as Metsähallitus.

Nya offentliga konstverk tog avstamp i barnens skogsutflykter och teckningar4.3.2025 10:00:00 EET | Pressmeddelande

Läroinrättningarna i Helsingfors har fått två nya offentliga konstverk som barnen varit med om att skapa. Mari Mäkiö planerade verket som placerats i Daghemmet Tunturi i Mellungsbacka och konstnärsgruppen Hyäryllistä verket som finns i grundskolan Taivallahden peruskoulu. Verken kuraterades av Helsingfors konstmuseum HAM och finansierades i enlighet med enprocentsprincipen som staden följer.
