Helsinki International Arbitration Day (HIAD 2018) kokosi torstaina 24.5.2018 jo seitsemättä kertaa kansainvälisen välimiesmenettelyn huippunimet Helsinkiin. Päivän teema “Shaping the Future of International Arbitration” keskittyi välimiesmenettelyn tulevaisuuteen ja siihen, miten käyttäjien toiveisiin menettelyjen nopeudesta, tehokkuudesta ja teknologian hyödyntämisestä riidanratkaisussa pystytään tulevaisuudessa vastaamaan.

Helsinki International Arbitration Day (HIAD 2018) was held today, 24 May 2018, in the Finnish capital on the topic ‘Shaping the Future of International Arbitration’. The seminar, now in its seventh edition, gathered leading international arbitration experts from Finland and around the world to discuss about the future of international arbitration and how dispute resolution can be tailored to continue to meet the users' expectations of speed, efficiency and use of technology.

Helsinki International Arbitration Day 2017 attracted close to 250 legal practitioners specialised and interested in arbitration and dispute resolution from approximately 20 countries. The Chair of the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce (FAI), Mr Mika Savola, was awarded The Chamber of Commerce Cross during the event. The Finland Chamber of Commerce also awarded Ms Carita Wallgren-Lindholm the Finland 100 – Special Medal of Merit for her valuable work for the Finnish arbitration.

Helsinki International Arbitration Day 2017 (www.hiad.fi) will be held on Thursday, 18 May 2017. The event gathers international arbitration and dispute resolution experts in Helsinki. The day's theme "Taking a Close Look at Today's Arbitral Process and Who Pays for It " addresses highly relevant issues relating to arbitration process, the role of arbitral institutions and distribution of the cost of the arbitration.

Keskuskauppakamari julkaisee tänään 26.5. Helsinki International Arbitration Day (HIAD) -tapahtumassa uudet sovittelusäännöt (Mediation Rules), jotka helpottavat kaikenkokoisten yritysten riidanratkaisua. Sovittelusääntöjen avulla yritykset voivat puolueettoman sovittelijan avustuksella pyrkiä löytämään erimielisyyteensä sovinnollisen ratkaisun joustavassa ja kevyessä menettelyssä.
