How about exploring dream worlds in a museum – in your pyjamas? You don’t have to wait for it any longer! The Children’s Museum Festival on 16 and 17 March has loads of activities that are inspired by the idea of a pyjama party activities and imaginary worlds: workshops, performances, music and other fun stuff in which art, architecture and history play an important role. Activities for the entire family include AnnanHouse disco, Chevalier hobby horse circus and scenes from Unikuskit, a play for children. In the galleries you can come across Dream Scientist, a hilarious duo who investigate the mysteries of dreams, and you may even meet Mr Clutterbuck, everyone's favourite sleepwalker.

The activities and performances can be enjoyed in the two museum buildings on Saturday and Sunday from 11–17. The festival programme includes adventures with strange creatures in a magical forest of dreams, moonlight rides in a garden at night, and a machine that whispers funny dreams! In the art workshops you can engage with dream stuff, build creative lanterns for bedtime stories, and make a soft dreamhead creature. And if you bring your own sleep toy to the festival, you can lull it into sleep with a snack and a lullaby.

If the pyjama party gets a bit too hectic, there is always Slumberland, a sensory-friendly space where children can lull their adults into sleep. The space has noice cancelling headphones you can use to relax completely.

Mark the weekend in your calendar, dress the whole family in their pyjamas and join the Children’s Museum Festival party!

Detailed programme and schedule of the festival will be updated during February at www.lastenmuseofestarit.fi

EMMA’s new exhibition opens a new chapter in the history of Arte Povera8.4.2025 10:01:00 EEST | Press release

Arte Povera – A New Chapter explores the work of women artists inspired by the Arte Povera movement, which emerged in Italy in the 1960s. The exhibition celebrates the power of modest materials through the work of more than 20 international artists. In addition to showcasing contemporary creators, it also features artists who were active during the early days of the movement. The exhibition creates an international context for the concurrent retrospective of Karin Hellman, which opens at EMMA at the same time. Both exhibitions will be on view at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art from 9 April 2025 to 1 February 2026.

Arte Povera – Uusi luku tarkastelee naistaiteilijoiden työskentelyä 1960-luvun Italiassa syntyneen arte povera -taidesuuntauksen hengessä. Näyttely julistaa koruttomien materiaalien voimaa yli 20 kansainvälisen taiteilijan tuotannossa. Kokonaisuus tuo yhteen nykytekijöitä liikkeen syntyaikoina työskennelleiden taiteilijoiden rinnalle. Samalla se luo kansainvälisen kehyksen samanaikaisesti EMMAssa avautuvan Karin Hellmanin retrospektiiville. Molemmat näyttelyt ovat esillä 9.4.2025–1.2.2026 EMMA – Espoon modernin taiteen museossa.
