Cyber Security Nordic 2024 kicks off next week – top cybersecurity experts gather for two days in Helsinki

The event will feature two full days of talks from international speakers, Hacker’s Corner challenges, and nearly 50 companies showcasing their expertise in information and cyber security. In the rapidly evolving cyber landscape, Cyber Security Nordic remains a leading platform for dynamic discussions and networking opportunities. The event will cover a broad spectrum of cybersecurity topics from both business and public administration perspectives. 

Key subjects include European efforts for secure digitalisation, strategies for information security, cybercrime and law enforcement, cyber politics and democracy, defence against cyberwarfare, and the role of geopolitics and diplomacy in cybersecurity.

The event is aimed at cyber security professionals, business management and experts responsible for information security, IT and communications.  

Two stages of cybersecurity insights 

• Stage One: Featuring Finland’s largest LED setup for a conference (100+ square metres), this stage will host keynotes from strategic partners Accenture, Fitsec, Cyberday, HP Finland, Microsoft, Nixu, Trend Micro, NetNordic, and Vectra, along with other international experts. 

• The Gold Stage: Offering a wider range of talks, addressing practical, technical, and strategic cybersecurity knowledge. 

Keynote speakers include: 

• Max Schrems of Noyb – European Center for Digital Rights, known for his privacy advocacy and legal battles against Facebook (Meta) over privacy violations. 

• Prof. William H. Dutton of Oxford University, an expert on internet studies and author of The Fifth Estate: The Power Shift of the Digital Age. 

• JM. Monteith of Lockheed Martin, with over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture in the aerospace and defence sectors. 

Pitch Finland Cyber Security 

This competition seeks to identify new innovations or services with the potential to contribute to the growth of the cybersecurity industry globally. The final will take place on 29 October 2024, with the winner, a Finland-registered company or organisation, receiving a €10,000 prize from the Finnish Fair Foundation. 

Hacker's Corner – new in 2024 

A highlight of the 2024 event is the Hacker's Corner, where cybersecurity professionals will test their skills in real-world scenarios. Participants will collaborate with leading companies to tackle complex challenges, gaining insight into the hacker’s mindset.
