The Oulu-based technology company Proventia will get a 2,000-square-meter expansion next to its main office in Oulunsalo. The new building will include office space, product development, and pilot production areas, specifically for developing battery systems. After the expansion, the company will employ over 150 people at the Oulunsalo site. The total cost of the expansion project is approximately 4 million euros. The construction is being commissioned by Proventia’s main owner, Head Invest, and it is scheduled to be completed in November 2025.

Proventia’s CEO, Jari Lotvonen, states: “Proventia’s Oulunsalo site is primarily a technology center focused on developing new products, their commercialization for mass production, and their marketing and sales. We currently serve our engine and OEM customers from two locations in Oulu, Oulunsalo and Nuottasaari. In the future, operations will be concentrated in Oulunsalo, where we develop and design our emission control systems, thermal insulation components, and batteries.”

Proventia has strongly invested in advancing the green transition of the non-road machine industry. The company’s latest solutions are battery systems suitable for machine electrification. The expansion of the technology center will better facilitate the development and commercialization of battery systems up to mass production.

“We have strong expertise in developing machine technologies in Finland and Oulu. A unified space enhances our operations and facilitates the design of new products. The products developed in Oulu are manufactured in series at our factory in the Czech Republic, which we are also expanding by approximately 2,000 square meters, “Lotvonen continues.

Head Invest’s CEO, Lauri Antila, states: “As Proventia's main owner, it is important to us that the company has functional and appropriate facilities that enable its development and growth. The expansion is a significant investment in Northern Finnish technology expertise and Proventia's future.”

The main contractor for the construction project is Temotek Oy, and the architectural design is by Arkkitehtuuritoimisto Juha Paldanius Oy, who also designed the original Proventia technology center. We have applied for a building permit for the new building and aim to begin construction by the end of this year.
