JACK & JONES Partners with RiverRecycle for World Rivers Day Initiative in Bangladesh
In celebration of World Rivers Day, JACK & JONES, a leading international menswear brand, partners with RiverRecycle, an organization dedicated to sustainable river waste management, to support a vital project in Bangladesh.
This year's initiative focuses on the Kumar River in Faridpur, a tributary of the Padma River. JACK & JONES has allocated funding to RiverRecycle's project, with the aim of addressing the critical issue of city drain blockages before the arrival of the monsoon season. The blockages in these drains are a well-documented cause of severe flooding and sanitation issues, particularly during the intense rains experienced in the region.
With support from JACK & JONES, RiverRecycle will undertake the cleaning of city drains at the location of their installation. This proactive measure will benefit the environment and sanitary conditions of the community living on the banks of the Kumar River, directly affecting the environment of more than 50 households.
This collaboration exemplifies how companies can support specific local initiatives to enhance environmental and social benefits.
“Continuing our promise to support local initiatives addressing environmental issues, we are thrilled to support RiverRecycle for this year’s World Rivers Day initiative. Partnering with RiverRecycle on a specific project, like the cleaning of the Kumar River in Faridpur, exemplifies how we can support local initiatives that make a direct difference on both the environment and the local community,” Says Elena Osenbrüg, Sustainability Responsible at JACK & JONES
Anssi Mikola, CEO and Founder of RiverRecycle says;
“JACK & JONES’s support is instrumental in our efforts to maintain the health of the Kumar River and protect the local communities from the devastating effects of monsoon flooding. This project is a testament to the power of cross-sector partnerships in driving sustainable development.”
